Castillo Cardigan by Itch to Stitch

This year I have been all about sewing layering pieces. This is one area of my wardrobe that has been lacking quite a bit, even though I wear them all the time. As we begin to transition into summer, I appreciate an easy layering piece even more. The Castillo Cardigan by Itch to Stitch is exactly what I needed. The Castillo Cardigan has a raglan sleeve with shoulder darts to give a great fit! I love the casual feel of the open cardigan, with the side slits and the hood. Oh, and lets not forget about the pockets!! The best cardigans have pockets! I would say this is a great…

Sabalito Top by Itch to Stitch

I am absolutely loving the wrap top trend that I have been seeing lately. If you do not believe me, just check out my “Inspire my Wardrobe” board on Pinterest 🙂 When Kennis with Itch to Stitch released the testing call for her newest pattern, I knew I had to have it! I mean look at it!! The Sabalito Top is relaxed top with dolman sleeves. It is super comfortable and easy to put together. But, in true Itch to Stitch form, there is a unique twist to the pattern, with the overlapping front panels that create the ties. As for my version, I sewed up a size 0, B…

My Favorite Sewing Tools for Beginners

Hello Everyone! You may not know this, but in my free time, I teach small group sewing classes in my home. With Christmas quickly approaching, I am often asked about my favorite sewing tools. It is no secret that I love Amazon, so I will include the Amazon links to the products that we use in sewing class, but you can buy many of these same products at Jo-Ann Fabrics, Wal-Mart, or any of your local craft stores. Sewing Machine Okay, let’s first start with the sewing machine. There are so many options out there, but for my classes we use the Brother CS6000i. However, that machine is hard to…

Atenas Jacket by Itch to Stitch

Hello Everyone! I have been meaning to share the details on my latest make for some time now, but life just kept getting in the way. But I am here now 🙂 Anyway, I am here to share the details on the Atenas Jacket by Itch to Stitch. I have made a lot of things over the years and I honestly think that I am the proudest of this jacket. I absolutely love it! I have been wanting a good, casual jacket for some time now and I haven’t been able to find one in the stores that fit well and that wasn’t super expensive. When Kennis with Itch to…

Gobi Culottes by Itch to Stitch

I love finding those patterns that push you out of your comfort zone and challenge you, both with the construction and the style! Itch to Stitch patterns always impress me with the fit and construction and the Gobi Culottes are no exception! The finishes are gorgeous and the details make you feel like a pro 🙂 The Gobi Culottes pattern was originally drafted to hit right above the knees, but the pattern explains how to lengthen the pattern to make them any length. I decide to add 18″ and make them ankle length for a fun Fall look. As for Fabric I went with a Linen/Rayon Blend from JoAnn Fabrics.…

Pattern Mashup: Lisa and Kimberly Dress Patterns by Athina Kakou

I am here today to show you my latest make, and it just might be my new favorite dress! I did a pattern mashup with the Lisa Dress Pattern and the Kimberly Dress Pattern. Both patterns are by Athina Kakou. Both patterns have their similarities, and they work very well together. The Lisa Dress has a V-neckline, an A-line skirt, bodice darts and 2 sleeve options (sleeveless or scalloped cap sleeve. The Kimberly Dress also has a V-neckline and bodice darts, but it has a circle skirt and either short sleeves or long sleeves. For this project I knew I needed sleeves and that I wanted the A-line skirt, as…

Versa Purse by Heidi and Finn

I switched things up a bit this time around and made purses for my 2 youngest girls, and I am giddy about them! The was lucky enough to get to test the Versa Purse Pattern by Heidi and Finn. I absolutely adore how they turned out, especially because I found the best glitter fabric to use on the appliques. Their older sister has quite a few purses, so I knew it was their turn. I let them pick out the purse design based on the idea sheet that was included in the pattern. Peyton choose the diamond and Everly choose the mermaid tail. Their favorite part though, was choosing the…

Orono Top by Itch to Stitch

Another cozy, comfy top added to my wardrobe, which is perfect because it seems Arizona decided to participate in the winter season this year. I have been so cold, so I am very grateful for the new Fabric.com. You can even search by the stretch percentage on the left hand -side. I think that pretty much wraps it up. I would love to know what you think about the Orono Top. *This post does contain affiliate links.

Roho Blouse by Coffee and Thread

Hello!! If you follow me on Instagram, you probably have already heard me rave about the newest pdf pattern by Coffee and Thread, the Roho Blouse. Its no secret that I love a good sleeve, and this blouse definitely fits the bill. This blouse is a loose fitting raglan sleeve top with some amazing details. Lets first look at that sleeve. The pleated shoulder gives shape up top and then allows it to flare out. The bottom of the sleeve is gathered together with an elastic cuff. I used 3/4″ elastic for the cuff, but I think it would also be fun to experiment with skinnier elastic as well. The…
