Hand Sewing – SUMMER Banner (no experience needed, ages 6+)

The classic Seasonal Felt Banner! This is a hand sewing class for kids 6 and older. No previous experience required. This is a fun “SUMMER” banner with lots of fun colors.  I will have all of the pieces precut, so the kids can get started sewing right away. The cost for the class is $30.

Beginners: Learn to Sew

Monday – Friday, July 6^th – 10^th (please plan to attend all 5 days)

This course is designed for kids 7 and older who do not have previous sewing experience.  *The minimum age is 7 years old, but please only sign up your child if they can comfortably and accurately use large scissors and is able to remain focused for 2.5 hours in a group setting.

We will start out by learning the basics of hand sewing and then we will move into machine sewing.  The kids will learn the parts of the machine and work on practice sheets before diving into machine sewing.  We will complete both hand sewing projects, as well as projects made with a sewing machine.  Projects include a felt key chain, an embroidery hoop, bookmark, pillowcase, and a string backpack the cost is $220.

Beyond Basics: Bandana Tote

Tuesday – Thursday: July 7^th – 9^th

I have been seeing these cute Bandana Tote bags everywhere and I think this will be such a fun sewing project!  We will quilt the tote bag, add some fun patches and of course fully line it. If the kids have any extra time we will make some bag charms.  The cost for this class is $130.

Beyond Basics: Simple Skirt

The simple skirt was one of the first things my daughter sewed when I first started teaching – it continues to be one of my favorite projects 😊  This is a simple elastic skirt that the girls will learn to make based on their own measurements.  The cost of the class is $45.

This is one of my favorite little purses, we have made several versions of this pattern over the years.  I have glitter fabric for the kids to use to applique a design on the purse.  This is a fully lined purse with a zipper.  The cost for this class is $45.

Beyond Basics: Lunch Bag

Saturday: July 18th

Time to get ready to head back to school!  This is a fun one that allows the kids to show off their sewing talents to all of their friends in the cafeteria 😊 We will be making an insulated lunch bag with a button closure. It also works great for lunches at the park! Cost for this class is $45. 

Beyond Basics: Book Club

Monday – Wednesday: July 20^th – 22^nd  

9:30 – 11:30 am

I have a lot of students who love to read, so this one is for them 😊  We will make a soft reading pillow with a large zippered pocket, a book pouch, and if time allows, we will make book marks.  The cost for this class is $105.

Beyond Basics: Summer Pajamas

Monday – Wednesday: July 20^th – 22^nd

This is one of those staple classes, that is always so much fun!  We will make a pair of pajama shorts and applique a t-shirt to match.  I will have several fabric options to choose from for the shorts.  There may be extra time for in the class, depending on how detailed the kids choose to make their shirts.  If there is extra time, then I will have additional project options for the kids.  The cost of the class is $105.
