April Classes
Registration for the April classes will open at 8:30 pm on Wednesday, March 27th.
Hand Sewing: Ages 6 and older (no experience required)
Hand Sewing – Spring Banner
Friday: April 12th

The classic Seasonal Felt Banner! This is a hand sewing class for kids 6 and older. No previous experience required. I have not done a Spring Banner before, so this is a new one. I will have all of the pieces precut, so the kids can get started sewing right away. The cost for the class is $30.
Hand Sewing – Pocket Kitty and Tin

This is a cute hand sewing project. We will stitch a little Pocket Sized Kitty and then decorate a little Altoid sized tin for him/her to sleep in. This is a cute little class that will allow them to be creative. I will pre-cut the Kitty in a few different colors for them to choose from for the class. The cost of the class is $35.
Multi-Week Classes – BEGINNERS:
*Learn to Sew: 7 years and older.
Beginners – Learn to Sew
April 2nd – May 21st

This course is designed for kids 7 and older who do not have previous sewing experience. *The minimum age is 7 years old, but please only sign up your child if they can comfortably use large scissors and is able to remain focused on a project for 90 minutes at a time.
We will start out by learning the basics of hand sewing and then we will move into machine sewing. The kids will learn the parts of the machine and work on practice sheets before diving into machine sewing. We will complete both hand sewing projects, as well as projects made with a sewing machine. Projects include a felt key chain, an embroidery hoop, bookmark, pillowcase, and a string backpack the cost is $195.
Multi-Week Classes – BEYOND BASICS:
*Must have previously completed the Beginners course or have equivalent experience.
Beyond Basics – Dolly and Me Jammies
April 1st – 29th
Mondays: 12:30 – 2 pm

This one is for all of my 18” doll lovers. We will make a pair of matching shorts/tee pajama set for the kids and the dolls. We will sew the shorts from scratch and then applique a ready-to-wear t-shirt for the kids and the dolls. The cost of the class is $120.
Beyond Basics – Book Club
April 1st – May 13th

I have a lot of students who love to read, so this one is for them 😊 We will make a scrappy tote bag, a soft reading pillow with a large zippered pocket, and a book pouch. The cost is $170
Beyond Basics – Taste of Summer

Summer is right around the corner, so let’s get ready! This is a fruit-inspired class that is sure to bring their sweet smiles! We will make a fruit purse/bag, a watermelon blanket, and a cuddly strawberry pillow made with minky. The cost is $170.
Beyond Basics – Stuffies
April 4th – May 16th (no class on 5/2)

The kids never seem to get tired of this one! They all love the stuffies class 😊 We will spend the first part of the course making a custom special stuffy. The remaining class time will be spent making clothes or accessories for their new friend. I would expect that we will have plenty of time to make little outfits. I know the kids that have previously done this class have asked for more outfits, so this should allow them to make several outfit options 😊 The cost of the class is $145.

Beyond Basics – Gnome Pillow

Yes, yet another Gnome class… this time it is a Gnome Pillow/Stuffie. We will design one Boy Gnome pillow in “everyday” fabric. This will be a fun one to take home! The cost of the class is $32.
Beyond Basics – Bike Bag

Spring is here and the bikes are out! In this class the kids will make a bike bag with Velcro straps to attach to the handlebars. The cost for this class is $40
Beyond Basics – String Bag

I have had several kids ask for this one! This is the string bag that we make in the Beginners class, and the kids have requested to make this one again 😊 The cost of this class is $28.
Beyond Basics – Garden Gnomes
Friday: April 26th

I couldn’t let the month go by without a gnome project 😊 This is a little garden party… the Gardeners and little insects. They will make 2 gnomes of the kids’ choice (I will have a garden gnome, a lady bug, bee, or dragon fly to choose from). The cost for this class is $40.

I was hoping to have two teens do your beg class if you have space. Is that 3 days or 1 day any of those three days?
We have a two week break and would love to have them do a class. They are both very creative and want to learn to sew.

Hello! I am in SE Gilbert, AZ. I will have some classes in July. The summer schedule will be ready for registration next week. As for price, it depends on the class. The 10 hour beginners class is currently $160, and that does include all supplies. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thanks! Jen
