Legato Jeans by Love Notions
Hello! Okay, I am back today with a very exciting announcement… well, not really an announcement, but it is exciting! I made my very first pair of Jeans! I have been sewing clothes for over 10 years. I have made so many things over the years. I even made a wedding dress earlier this year, but for whatever reason I never thought I would be able to conquer sewing jeans. Well, when Tami with Love Notions announced that she was going to be releasing the Legato Jeans pattern, I decided to give it a go. I have made so many Love Notions patterns over the years, so I am very…

Fisterra Dress by Itch to Stitch
Well, I am back after taking a few months off from pattern testing. Life has just been busy and pattern testing takes a pretty big chunk of time, so it just haven’t made it a priority. However, when I saw the testing call for the Fisterra pattern, I knew I needed to make the time! Kennis, the designer behind Itch to Stitch, really is one of the most pattern designers I have come across. The pattern construction is always top notch and the fit is almost always spot on, even in the first version of the test. She is very talented. So with that said, I would like to introduce…

Hello Everyone!! This is my first post in a long time! As the first month of 2022 is coming to an end, I decided it was about time to get going on my New Year Resolutions 🙂 I have missed my blog and I have missed documenting my latest makes. So, I know it will not be perfect, but I am excited to get this going again!! So, without further ado, let me tell you about my latest make… the Oversized Arlington Sweater by Love Notions. I received this gorgeous Slub Rib Knit fabric from Mily Mae Fabrics and I knew that I wanted to make something that would showcase…

Pixie Tee by Chalk and Notch
This is going to be short and sweet, but I really want to share my latest make with everyone, because I feel like a real-loved t-shirt deserves a little shout-out 🙂 The Pixie Tee from Chalk and Notch is a wardrobe stable for me. I love the relaxed, boxy fit. It is perfect for my everyday life as a stay-at-home mom. I am one who has to “get ready” for the day, even if I am not going anywhere, it just makes me feel better and motivates me to accomplish more during the day. However, even though I want to put on make-up and do my hair, I usually opt…

Castillo Cardigan by Itch to Stitch
This year I have been all about sewing layering pieces. This is one area of my wardrobe that has been lacking quite a bit, even though I wear them all the time. As we begin to transition into summer, I appreciate an easy layering piece even more. The Castillo Cardigan by Itch to Stitch is exactly what I needed. The Castillo Cardigan has a raglan sleeve with shoulder darts to give a great fit! I love the casual feel of the open cardigan, with the side slits and the hood. Oh, and lets not forget about the pockets!! The best cardigans have pockets! I would say this is a great…

Pattern Mashup: Lisa and Kimberly Dress Patterns by Athina Kakou
I am here today to show you my latest make, and it just might be my new favorite dress! I did a pattern mashup with the Lisa Dress Pattern and the Kimberly Dress Pattern. Both patterns are by Athina Kakou. Both patterns have their similarities, and they work very well together. The Lisa Dress has a V-neckline, an A-line skirt, bodice darts and 2 sleeve options (sleeveless or scalloped cap sleeve. The Kimberly Dress also has a V-neckline and bodice darts, but it has a circle skirt and either short sleeves or long sleeves. For this project I knew I needed sleeves and that I wanted the A-line skirt, as…

Roho Blouse by Coffee and Thread
Hello!! If you follow me on Instagram, you probably have already heard me rave about the newest pdf pattern by Coffee and Thread, the Roho Blouse. Its no secret that I love a good sleeve, and this blouse definitely fits the bill. This blouse is a loose fitting raglan sleeve top with some amazing details. Lets first look at that sleeve. The pleated shoulder gives shape up top and then allows it to flare out. The bottom of the sleeve is gathered together with an elastic cuff. I used 3/4″ elastic for the cuff, but I think it would also be fun to experiment with skinnier elastic as well. The…

Envigado Vest by Itch to Stitch
Sometimes I sign up to test patterns because I simply love the design and it fills a hole in my wardrobe, and sometimes I sign up to test because I love a good challenge. In this case, it happens to be both of those reasons. I learned last year that I love wearing vests on chilly, Arizona days. For me, vests seem to supply just enough warmth, while also giving me extra pockets, which always seems necessary. So when Kennis (Itch to Stitch) asked for testers for her new Envigado Vest, I jumped on it! I even ordered fabric and supplies before the test began, which I never do. However,…

Resolution Bottoms by Love Notions
What a way to start off the New Year! Love Notions just released a brand new pattern, The Resolution Bottoms. This pattern is packed with options! The Resolution Bottoms pattern comes with 5 views: Joggers, Straight Leg Yoga Pants, Boot Cut Yoga Pants, Leggings and Moto Leggings. In addition, there are 2 waistband options: Yoga Style and the Contour Waistband with elastic. Plus, there is the option to add pockets! For this pattern test I made the Moto Leggings with a yoga style waistband, without pockets. This seems crazy to admit, but this is the very first pair of leggings that I have made for myself. I have been wanting…

The Uvita Add-On Pattern by Itch to Stitch
My first Pattern Test of 2019 is a good one!! The Uvita Add-On Pattern by Itch to Stitch. The Uvita Top by Itch to Stitch was released last year as a free pattern. It is such a great staple pattern. The original Uvita is a relaxed, knit top that has a drop shoulder and 2 sleeve options. I have seen a lot of pattern hacks done on the pattern this year, but I am excited to say that Kennis has done the work for you and released a new Add-on pattern! There are so many possibilities with this add-on pattern. I chose to make a my top with a hood,…
