Oversized Arlington Sweater by Love Notions
Hello Everyone!! This is my first post in a long time! As the first month of 2022 is coming to an end, I decided it was about time to get going on my New Year Resolutions 🙂 I have missed my blog and I have missed documenting my latest makes. So, I know it will not be perfect, but I am excited to get this going again!!
So, without further ado, let me tell you about my latest make… the Oversized Arlington Sweater by Love Notions.
I received this gorgeous Slub Rib Knit fabric from Mily Mae Fabrics and I knew that I wanted to make something that would showcase its amazing drape. I got the fabric in the “Pink Sand” color. In the past I would not wear the color pink, mostly because I didn’t think it looked good on me, but I have started to change my mind 🙂 Look at me being adventurous with color!
I had the idea to hack the Arlington Sweater, pattern by Love Notions. I knew I wanted a slight drop shoulder and exaggerated sleeves, but I wanted to keep the fit around my neck the same as the pattern intended.
I measure an X-Small in Love Notions tops. I mashed together the X-Small with a Medium. I used the X-Small lines for the neck and the wrist cuffs, but then used the size Medium for everything else. I made a quick video to show how I adjusted the pattern pieces for anyone who is interested.
It was such a quick and satisfying make! In fact, I made another top using the same pattern pieces! I will come back and add pictures of the 2nd top once I find time to take them 🙂
