Luci Mae by Lil Luxe Collection
Hello! I am Back!! My kids are finally back in school! Today was the first day of full-time, in-person school! They are beyond excited to be back and I am beyond excited to get back to a normal schedule!
So, given that the last 6-7 months have been crazy, I have been terrible about sharing all of my makes. I made these Luci Mae Jumpers during testing awhile back.
I did test this pattern, so the pants version was Version 1 during testing and the dress version was the Final Version of the pattern. There were slight changes to the pattern during testing, but I love how both of them turned out! I made a size 7, based on my daughters measurements.
Let’s start with the Dress Version. I made the dress with a Cheetah French Terry fabric from So Sew English, but I think it is out of stock now.
I have to tell you, I love a pattern that allows you to sew it in both knit fabric and woven fabric. The only modification I made to the knit version was that I used knit interfacing on the bodice. The knit interfacing, or or Tricot, helped give some stability to the bodice so it did not have so much drape. It worked out perfectly!
I also want to point out that cute bow-pocket detail.
And I did include the pockets on this one, which my daughter loves π
So, although I absolutely adore the dress version of the Luci Mae, I wanted to include a few pictures of the pants version. Like I mentioned, this was Version 1 of the pattern during testing, so there were a few changes to the pattern (I just do not remember the exact changes). Nonetheless, I love how it turned out. My daughter even wore it for her first day of school this year.
I made this using a woven fabric, that kind of resembles chambray. I bought this fabric at SAS Fabrics in Tempe, AZ. It was a mystery remnant, so I am not exactly sure of its fiber content. It is light-weight and has a slight texture.
Anyway, we put a little undershirt with it and it was perfect for school!
It is hard to see, but we even made a matching bow scrunchie, which was the perfect accessory!
Let me know if you have any questions! I know this was a pretty basic post, but I love the idea of sharing my makes and pictures of patterns that I love, in hopes that it can inspire others to sew clothes.
I will be back soon with more, as long as my kids continue to get to go to in-person school π
